Volunteer Training Spring 2008

RESPONSE will be conducting a training for those interested in volunteering to serve survivors of domestic violence and/or sexual assault. This free, 30 hour training will prepare you to sensitively and effectively provide crisis intervention, counseling, advocacy, information about and referral to other appropriate agencies.

The training schedule is as follows:

Monday April 21, 2008	5:45 to 9pm	Introduction
Wednesday April 23, 2008	6:00 to 9:00pm	Profile of a Survivor
Saturday April 26, 2008	9am to 4pm	Active Listening Skills & - Profile of a Perpetrator
Monday April 28, 2008	6:00 to 9:00	Children's Issues
Wednesday April 30, 2008	6:00 to 9:00	Legal Issues, Domestic Violence
Monday May 5, 2008	6:00 to 9:00	Forensic Sex Assult Exam
Wednesday May 7, 2008	6:00 to 9:00	Meet with ALL Current Advocates
Saturday May 10, 2008	9 am to 4 pm	Lots of Role Play

This training will be held in the conference room at the Schultz Health & Human Service Building, located next to Aspen Valley Hospital.
